FEMMES and THEMS

Have you ever been curious about martial arts but it was an environment that didn't feel right for you? We invite you to contact us and inquire about our Femmes and Thems classes. As a supplementary practice from Moose Historical Fencing, this is a small once a month introductory Longsword class with a trauma informed and consent based focus, and an emphasis on inclusivity.

Facilitated and guided by Rachel Helm, these classes will be limited in size and cater specifically to queer, trans, women and minority populations. If you are interested in attending these classes separately or in tandem with regular Moose practices, please let us know in your initial contact. We are also happy to discuss any thoughts/concerns you have! We believe that Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) belongs to everyone, and we want to help you explore this in a safe and comfortable way.

Rachel Helm (She/Her) is the facilitator and instructor for the Femmes and Thems practices from Moose Historical Fencing
